I’ve always did think of Lauren Faust as the Spiritual soul sister of Alan Moore, considering how Moore always retells that story of Faust and the Devil. And how both have been treated harshly by their respective industries after trying to help revive old dying properties and introduced a period of innovation for the medium only to have their artworks just another product of a vast moneymaking campaign.
Also want to note Alan Moore is a believer in storytelling as an art not a product. Art should be transformative and innovative. Both Faust and Moore want to push the bounds of what their respective mediums can do, not fall back to cheaply made, rehashed stories, made purely for profit.
